For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
It was an absolute pleasure to interview Chanelle Fairlene Pillay, and amazing Daughter of The King with a passion for the Word of God. Her passion shines through her words!
Chanelle is 29 years old and was born and raised in the city of Durban, South Africa. She is a qualified Attorney with a Masters degree in Business Law. She relocated to Johannesburg in 2019 and currently practices at a law firm in Johannesburg. She explains that she is planted and serving in a ministry known as Shekinah Prophetic Ministries (The SuperNatural Church of Jesus Christ) which is situated in Johannesburg.
1. As a Christian & Child of God, what inspires you the most?
I am inspired by the Word of God and anything that relates to Him and His Kingdom. There are many people from the days of old that set a powerful example of how to be set apart and how to live a life that is pleasing to God. David’s life inspires me to chase the heart of God. Ruth’s life inspires me to have hope that God can bring wholeness to brokenness. Esther’s life inspires me to believe that He can use you for one divine moment that can impact a nation.
2. When was the turning point for you, the day you decided to give your life to the Lord and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior?
I was born and raised in a Christian home. My maternal grandparents played a crucial role in teaching me about Jesus and His Word when I was a child. My family and I were always involved in the ministries we were connected to and had a desire to pursue the Lord and His Kingdom. Through the years I would often have dreams, visions and encounters with the Lord that made Him more real to me.
3. Do you have a testimony that you would like to share?
The Lord has done so much for me that it would be difficult to just name one testimony. However, I would say that the year 2017 held defining events in my personal life that truly re-positioned my trust, hope and walk with the Lord. At the time, when everything seemed broken and confusing and I could not see what good would come from my life at that stage, God surprised me! I connected to The SuperNatural Church of Jesus Christ and experienced a dynamic shift in all areas of my life. I then made the decision to relocate to Johannesburg. I began to serve more in the ministry and my passion for the Lord and His Kingdom intensified. I began to understand His Word, promises and principles more now than ever before. And, what nobody could understand or help my heart and life with, the Lord brought healing and purpose to. So, I would say that the last 3 years of my life have been a series of supernatural and exciting testimonies.
4. Please tell us more about your book!
The book I wrote is called “A Shepherd King”. It contains secrets and lessons from the life of David in chasing the heart of God and developing a character that reflects His. The book uncovers some of the answers as to why this mere shepherd boy was taken from leading sheep in a field to becoming the King of Israel and why he was known as a man after God’s own heart. Each chapter deals with his journey which was paved with moments of strengths, mistakes and experiences that can truly prompt us and inspire us as believers to examine our own hearts before the Lord. The book is available for purchase or download on AMAZON. If you connect on my Facebook or Instagram page, more information can be provided on obtaining your copy directly from me.
5. How did you come across this idea for the book?
From the time I was a little girl, I loved to read and write. I would pour over Christian books and novels and even try my hand at creative writing. I always had this secret desire to write books so that people would be encouraged in their faith and to inspire them to know more about God’s promises and plans for their lives. Then, in February 2019, I received a destiny-changing prophetic word from Prophet Adrian EliJAH Robert at The SuperNatural Church of Jesus Christ. The man of God released a prophetic word that the Lord was going to bring forth many books that would inspire people to know Him more and know His character! I was absolutely blown away. This had always been my desire since I was a child and to think that the Lord was going to bring forth this desire for His Kingdom and in my life was overwhelming. A few months later, whilst I was reading and delving deeper into the life story of David, the Lord started to reveal everything one can learn from this shepherd boy on chasing His heart, being victorious and on living a full and fulfilled life. I started jotting down some points and the outline of the book. Then, at one of our evening services, the word of the Lord came forth again from the prophet of the Lord about the book. I had not shared anything about the book with anyone at that stage. The man of God said that he sees me writing and that God was going to speak fast, I was going to write fast and the Lord was going to do it fast! Within 3 months after that word was released, the entire book was completed!
6. What goals have you set for your book?
The only desire I have for the book is for God to do as He spoke and as He pleases. I pray that people’s hearts will be transformed- even if it is through one chapter that speaks to them and their situation. I pray that a reader’s life will find healing in their brokenness, that a lost son or daughter in the Kingdom returns to the Father, that one who is suffering from rejection or betrayal is set free and most importantly, that the one who does not know Jesus comes to salvation and encounters the heart of God and His love for them.
7. What has been your biggest challenge thus far?
There has been no challenge in writing or publishing this book. Prophet Adrian EliJAH once said something that was very profound. He said- that which is born of the flesh must be maintained by the flesh. But that which is born of the spirit will be maintained by the Spirit. Basically, if God spoke it, He will do it! We must do the natural and He will do the supernatural.
8. What is your favourite / most inspirational bible verse that you live by?
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
9. What does the phrase Daughter of the King mean to you?
To be a Daughter of the King means knowing who you are in Christ and most importantly, knowing who you belong to. As a Daughter of the King, you are an heir of God and co-heir with Christ. Every good and perfect thing from your Father’s Kingdom is yours by virtue of inheritance.
10. What advice do you have for other Christian Women?
My grandmother would always say something profound to my mother, who then passed those words to my sister and I. And those words of advice were:
"No matter what happens, never leave the Hand of God."
